Exit Prezza

So John Precott is leaving politics. Who will provide all the humour on the Labour benches?

Conferences

Isn't party conference season great?

Blair and Brown, Brown and Blair.

Parties in power for too long grow tired and fight amongst themselves rather than the country's ills. We Tories should know.

It's time Labour was relieved of the burden of office.

Lib Dem trial

So two Lib Dem councillors are being tried for alleged vote-rigging in Daneshouse.

I genuinely hope that they are found not guilty. Not for the sake of their party, not even for the sake of them. But for the sake of our town's good name, and of its system of government- democracy.

Lib Dem Tax

So the Lib Dems' mature leader has performed the clever act of repealing their infamous 50p-in-the-pound income tax policy, while maintaining and increasing all the other tax hikes, thus suggesting to the public that they are out-growing their tax-'em-hard days. Clever.

Tree! Tree!

The new Tory Tree wouldn't have been my choice,

it must be said. But then I failed to attend the

consultation, and it is pretty modern.

I'd have drawn it for half of the alleged fee.

Kitty Litter

Kitty Ussher's 'Incidental expenses provision', ie my tax, has funded a glossy A4 leaflet which has been pushed through every Burnley letter box. It heralds our MP as a hard-working, fun-loving, Burnley-supporting individual who deals with over 30 Burnley residents' problems per week.

Funny that, because when I contacted her with a concern (the forth-coming vote on the Religious Hatred Bill) I merely got an automated email with no follow up. If that is the level of response offered, I'd expect her to have dealt with 300 people per week.
